Schlafly Oktoberfest
This seasonal offering from Schlafly ramps up the malt content over your average Oktoberfest. The aroma is nutty, with hints of sweet corn and vanilla. The taste is slightly sweet up front, with flavors of walnuts and brazillian nuts. The finish is pleasantly bitter with a hint of peanuts. This is very similar to a refreshing Nut Brown Ale. If you are looking for a stellar Oktoberfest, look no further.

Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale
Another Pumpkin Ale has joined the lineup. The nose is all nutmeg, with subtle hints of pumpkin shining through. The taste is light with flavors of basil, bay leaf, and pumpkin. Bitter yet refreshing on the back end, this is a quaffable Pumpkin Ale. However, if you are looking for the diversity or quality of a Schlafly, this will not appeal.

Brooklyn Blast! IPA
Brooklyn is an interesting brewery. I find more often than not that I do not like their beers. This beer exceeds every expectation. The smell is amazing, with aroma's of pineapple, papaya, herbs, and grapefruit. It made for a truly impressive nose. The taste is a little different. The hops have died a little due to the age on this IPA. However, it still had pleasant flavors of papaya and tea with a subtle bitterness throughout. The bitterness faded on the finish, leaving light flavors of lemon.

FCB The Incredible Hop Imperial IPA
I was excited by this Imperial IPA from FCB. Unfortunately, like most of their beers, this one was immensely disappointing. The nose smells sweet, with hints of coffee. It certainly doesn't smell like an incredibly hoppy beer as the title would suggest. The taste is overly sweet and bitter at the same time, with tastes of alcohol and garlic. The finish continues the overwhelming bitterness, with a flavor of burnt bacon and onions. Honestly, this one was not pleasant. It wasn't well-balanced. I am sure it has its crowd, but it was not us.

Left Hand Milk Stout
This is Left Hand's most popular beer. It showed in our tasting. The nose had subtle aroma's of black coffee and smoke. The taste was creamy, with lovely flavors of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Both of those flavors continued all the way through the finish, with a sweet creaminess being added towards the end. This remarkably smooth stout is perfect for those fluctuating temperatures of Fall.
