Weekly Beer Reviews

Three Floyds Jinx-Proof

This Continental Pilsner makes its long awaited debut on our Growler Wall. I wasn't sure what to think going into it, but it sure impressed both Tyler and I. The nose was light and fragrant with soft aromas of Pine-Sol, honey, clover, and red corn. The taste was full of flavor with hints of raspberries, lemon zest, and honey on the front. The back has that bite that Pilsners are known for while providing flavors of rye bread, honey, black tea, and lemon. Quite the refreshing and flavorful Pilsner that is perfect for those weekend trips down to the lake.

Mike and Tyler's Rating - 9/10

Three Floyds Gumball Head

It wouldn't be a proper Three Floyds Night without a Gumball Head keg on tap. This wheat beer is not like the others as the brewers hop the hell out of it. It certainly shows with a floral nose that also has hints of soap, cantaloupe, lime, and rosemary. The taste is light in body with tons of lemon juice and blueberries to be picked up. Light flavors of toast were also detected. The finish showed off more of that lemon juice with a hint of onion powder. This beer is incredibly refreshing with a light ABV and malt presence to make it perfectly sessionable.

Mike and Tyler's Rating - 9.25/10

Three Floyds Zombie Dust

This, of course, is the main attraction. Every single time we post that we have Zombie Dust, it never fails to draw a beer-centric crowd to the Liquor Barn. This is a particularly fresh keg of Zombie Dust with only about 15 days of age on it. The nose is clean with aromas of armpit, green onions, grapefruit, strawberry, lemon, pine, and tons of herbal notes. The nose alone blew us away before we even got to the beer. The taste is full of flavor with hints of citrus, garlic, and grapefruit on the front. The finish mellows out a bit with softer tastes of lemon zest, grass, and green onions. This APA is definitely worth the hype.

Mike and Tyler's Rating - 9.5/10

Three Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf

This happens to be my favorite Three Floyds beer, even over the Zombie Dust, and it certainly shows it. This Imperial IPA is only 17 days old and you can taste every day of difference that it made. The nose has strong aromas of mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, coconut, armpit, and firewood. It smells like a fresh ocean breeze blowing through a tropical paradise. The taste is another one that is full of flavor. mango, pineapple, guava, and oranges assault your tastebuds with softer flavors of charcoal and tea leaves also present. The finish is bitter with flavors of cranberries, citrus, mango, and papaya with a nice herbal twang that brings about thoughts of parsley or oregano. Tyler and I agreed that this beer is worth that ever elusive perfect rating.

Mike and Tyler's Rating - 10/10
